These stamps have been designed by Mircea Cantor, a French-Romanian born graphic artist.Mircea Cantor tries to transcript the uncertainty and complexity of life with simple and everyday-life designs. He deploys his art through many media: photography, sculpture, video, drawings and installation work.He has been invited at the occasion of this anniversary year, to illustrate some productions’ programme booklets: productions chosen to celebrate the Opera history, or some artists that participated to the artistic influence of the institution, such as The Trojans, Il Primo Omicidio, Otello, Swan Lake, Rusalka, Sugimoto/Forsythe, The Amorous Indies.
Artist Sarah Bougault engraved the printing plates for this special stamps collection.
The year 2019 marks a double anniversary for the Opéra national de Paris:
the 350 years of the institution and the 30 years of the Opéra Bastille.
On June 28, 1669, King Louis XIV signed in Saint-Germain-en-Laye the letters patent
authorizing the poet Pierre Perrin to establish an opera academy to offer the public
representations in music and French, which would become a few years later, in 1672,
the Royal Academy of Music. By this act, the King wanted to contribute to his personal
and public entertainment, to welcome artists from all countries to transmit the taste
of theater, dance and music. Louis XIV thus bequeathed to France
an exceptional institution which laid the foundations of French opera.
What is warm and cosy with it's pastel colors, soft blankets and a gentle, unobtrusive voice.😊 The feeling you want to keep always and everywhere, even in the online shop. Especially if what you buy is your hobby.🃏 I was always irritated by the impudence of sellers and low-quality goods. To call the postcards in online shop "Dickson-Card-XXL" goods it's not right. Postcards is a celebration of the soul. 🌼Such beauty, all made with love. Each postcard is a work of art. 🎆Thanks for the gift of pleasure. Thank you very much for such incredible enjoyment. I will come back there 🤩🤩🤩🤩
